My Services

Course Design

Online learning is an exciting way to share your ideas with the world, but what exactly should you share? Together we can craft a curriculum, create slides and visuals, develop individual exercises and group activities, and go beyond what might have been a lecture into an engaging, transformative, connected experience for your students, whether you’re creating a prerecorded course or hosting a live cohort. In addition to class materials, I can work with you to choose the best format, length, technology, and community platform depending on your goals.

Course Facilitation

Want backup? No matter how experienced or comfortable you are in front of large groups, nothing beats a partner-in-crime (also useful for state change 😉). I can be a full-fledged co-instructor or facilitator; I can help behind the scenes to script your course, advance slides, or monitor and facilitate comments; or I can do some combination of the above in service of supporting you so that you can focus on teaching and presentation.

HIGHLIGHTED PROJECT

The Minimalist Entrepreneur Course

The most exhilarating, best way to test the ideas in a book ever!

Sahil and I launched the first cohort of The Minimalist Entrepreneur Course in February 2021 as a way to test the ideas and methodology in The Minimalist Entrepreneur book. I served as the co-instructor for the four-week course, designing curriculum, teaching, rewriting the book based on comments from a cohort of 150 students, and creating an online community for the members of the cohort. Since then, we’ve taught the class together two more times (July 2021 and February 2022), updating the curriculum and testing and trying new ideas along the way.

 FAQ

  • I love online learning for the way it connects us to people around the world, for its adaptability, and, yes, for its unpredictability. That said, I find the best live online courses to be more meticulously planned, faster paced, and more technologically driven than traditional workshops. They have a different rhythm that takes time and flexibility to adapt to even if you regularly speak to groups or frequently lead trainings and workshops.

Prerecorded courses aren’t the same as giving a keynote; they require scripting and careful segmenting of your best material into shorter chunks replete with branded content. And both live and recorded courses are highly results driven. Most people seek out online learning for a very specific reason, and it’s up to you to provide that experience.

  • That’s how I felt too! Everyone feels that way. But with some support, practice, and a few simple upgrades to your setup (hello teleprompter!), you can look and feel more confident.

  • Sharing your ideas across a variety of platforms is always a good idea.

One of my favorite parts of working with nonfiction writers is developing systems and methodologies that showcase their unique ways of thinking and working.

Of course, they can share their expertise with the world in book form, but a course (or social channels, blog, newsletter, etc.) is another way to expand their audience and create an additional revenue stream.
